BUILDING BRIDGES AND STRENGTHENING TIES: WTC ABUJA AND CZECH REPUBLIC ECONOMIC DEPARTMENT FORGE TRADE COLLABORATIONS AND BUSINESS MATCHMAKING OPPORTUNITIES
In an era where international trade stands as a paramount driver of economic growth on the global stage, the World Trade Center Abuja (WTC Abuja) has been proactively cultivating valuable collaborations and partnerships with countries, international organizations, industry experts, government agencies, and various stakeholders. These partnerships hold the promise of mutual growth and prosperity on a global scale. Among the nations on the radar of trade exploration, the Czech Republic, renowned for its industrial prowess and innovative spirit, stands tall with a stable and resilient economy. This economy is marked by a robust manufacturing sector, notably in areas such as automotive, machinery, and electronics. Coupled with a highly skilled workforce and a business-friendly environment, the Czech Republic is an appealing destination for foreign investors and trade allies.
Taking a momentous stride towards nurturing international trade partnerships and delving into the Czech Republic’s economic landscape, WTC Abuja recently hosted a pivotal meeting with representatives from the Economic Department of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Abuja. The primary aim was to explore potential trade collaborations and business matchmaking opportunities. Present at this meeting were Mrs. Marie Nwanyanwu, Head of the Economy and Trade Department, alongside Economic Assistant Iniobong Inyang from the Czech Republic Embassy, joined by WTC Abuja’s esteemed team, including Mr. Ahmed Karim, Group General Manager of Sales and Marketing; Ms. Wuraola Onigbogi, Head of Trade Services Department; Treasure Etuk, Business Development and Membership Officer; Alabi Goodness, Programs and Trade Missions Officer; and Christiana Onourah, Sales and Marketing Officer.
Held on September 26, 2023, at the commercial tower reception of the World Trade Center Abuja, the meeting focused primarily on the Czech Republic Embassy’s aspirations to foster and fortify trade and business ties with Nigeria. Plans were unveiled for the facilitation of a government-to-government delegation meeting, bringing together representatives and officials from the Czech Republic and Nigerian governments for a roundtable discussion and engagement. The Embassy, with its presence in both Abuja and Lagos, is dedicated to enhancing G2G (government-to-government) and B2B (business-to-business) relations respectively.
In an era of increasingly interconnected global trade, these strategic and promising collaborations hold the key to unlocking new avenues of economic growth and prosperity. They are poised to facilitate enhanced business interactions and engagements through trade missions, trade shows, expos, exhibitions, B2B and G2G meetings, and conferences.
WTC Abuja, leveraging its extensive network and expertise in facilitating international trade, is ideally positioned to bridge the gap between Nigerian businesses and their counterparts in the Czech Republic.
